A Test Case Toward Outlawing Christianity?
December 2, 2004

For those who haven’t followed the story, something very interesting is occurring in Cupertino, California. It strongly appears that a test case may have begun there; an experiment to assess whether a school district (AKA “the state”) can annihilate Christianity and any and all references to God. There is a strong possibility, if not probability, that this trial case could set an incomparable precedent. This case pertains specifically to the exclusion of the Christian religion.
The foundation of the filed legal complaint appears to have begun with a question to fifth-grade Stevens Creek School teacher Steven Williams, from one of his students. The student asked Mr. Williams why “under God” was contained in the US Pledge of Allegiance. Mr. Williams explained that this sort of question (from his students) comes up a ‘few times a year’ and this one inspired a lively discussion amongst his students.
Apparently, the mother of the child who had asked the question complained to Principal Patricia Vidmar (about Williams’ referencing “God” in his classroom) and Mr. Williams was called into Vidmar’s office to explain himself. After a discussion with Vidmar, Mr. Williams believed the matter had been settled. Subsequently, in Williams’ teaching his students about Presidential Proclamations, Mr. Williams distributed a handout to his students of President Bush’s Proclamation on the National Day of Prayer. On May 19, 2004 Mr. Williams was again called into Ms. Vidmar’s office and advised that all of his lesson plans had to be presented to her prior to [his] presenting any information to his students. Since that time, Ms. Vidmar has systematically and summarily rejected any and all of Williams’ lesson plans that refer to God and specifically Christianity.
This includes Mr. Williams planned handouts of US historical documents, including the Declaration of Independence, George Washington's journal, John Adams' diary, Samuel Adams' "The Rights of the Colonists" and William Penn's "The Frame of Government of Pennsylvania”.
As an aside (but a significant aside), Williams has stated that any classroom discussions he has had referencing other religions (including but not limited to Islam) have been acceptable to Ms. Vidmar. Mr. Williams’ lesson plans regarding the religious celebrations of Ramadan, Diwali, Hanukah and the Chinese New Year were approved by Ms. Vidmar. Conversely, Mr. Williams’ presented lesson plan regarding Easter was rejected by Ms. Vidmar. Mr. Williams’ complaint against Stevens Creek School advises that he was singled out and discriminated against by the school district, as he is a practicing Christian. At this time, it is not known whether or not any of the other teachers at the school disseminate documents containing references to God and Christianity to their students.
As the ACLU, public schools and the left, in general, have been systematically and tirelessly working toward ridding the United States of any and all references to Christianity, Williams’ lawsuit could provide an essential legal precedent. If he does not prevail, we could see all of the United States founding documents disallowed, destroyed or ‘rewritten’; including the US Constitution.
Article VII of our Constitution states:
“The Ratification of the Conventions of nine States, shall be sufficient for the Establishment of this Constitution between the States so ratifying the same done in Convention by the Unanimous Consent of the States present the Seventeenth Day of September in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and Eighty seven and of the Independence of the United States of America the Twelfth In witness whereof We have hereunto subscribed our Names…”
I’m deducing reference to the Lord will be eradicated.
We are currently not only in a war, with terrorists from without, for the continued existence of our country and civilization as a whole, but must also wage a war with the anti-Christian forces from within. But, no one ever said the fight for our country’s soul would be easy.
