So Where is the Left?

You go onto several sites that fall under the umbrella of “Men’s Activism” these days, not the least of which is this site, and angry Democrats are bemoaning the fact that the “Men’s Movement is attacking Democrats!” Complaints of conservative bias abound. Indignant howls of “alienation” are legion. If I wanted sufficient cheese to go with all of the whine, I’d have to back up semi trailers to my door round the clock.
I’ve decided here and now that I have heard for the last time, the last whine about how hostile the Men’s Movement is towards the left side of the political spectrum. So I sat down and did a review over the complaints. Fair enough. And indeed, it is true. Democrats in particular, and the left in general, is taking it on the chin. But – as the great Paul Harvey says – what is the rest of the story? While antipathy to the political left is true for the most part, it’s largely the doing of the left which puts them at odds with the Men’s Movement. I’m going to say it once, and it’s my final word –don’t want to be counted among the enemies of Men? Don’t ally yourselves with them. It’s that simple.
Want concrete examples? Hold onto your hats then, because you are about to go on a Nantucket Sleigh Ride. Now this isn’t to excuse the flaws of the “Suck-it-up-and-be-a-man” chivalrous Right; but compared to the outright hostility of left-leaning folks towards men’s rights, this stuff is practically benevolent, even if ignorant and misapplied. No, I am not saying by any means that the Republican Party is perfect, or a trustworthy ally. I left the Republican Party quite some time back and became a Libertarian when I realized that they were long on rhetoric and short on action when it came time to pander to special interests for votes. But this isn’t about Republicans. Republicans aren’t the ones complaining.
I’ll first direct you to the central authority for man-hating lesbian gender feminism, http://www.now.org/ . This is the house organ for feminism. If you dispute that, we can try “Emily’s List,” or the “Fund for a Feminist Majority.” Show me a candidate there endorsed by these hags that isn’t so far left they ought to be wearing a Red Star. Show me one conservative candidate backed by these witches. I’m waiting.
Thought so. Now while the enemy of my enemy isn’t necessarily my friend, you can believe and bet your rent money that the friend of my enemy probably isn’t my friend, that’s for damn sure. But hey, let’s keep going. You wanted Chapter and Verse, and I’m here to oblige you. While the foregoing, I would think, would be enough to make just about anyone with two functioning brain cells go “Hmmm” far be it from me not to rant.
What, exactly, has the Democratic Party and the Left done for men these days? I have to confess I will be dipped if I can find so much as one damn thing that would allow me to claim even with reaching and torturous logic that the Left, that Democrats, are the friends of men. Go to the Amazonian Lesbos Resort, and you will find Ted Kennedy, Howard Dean, John Conyers – the “Who’s Who” of liberal men – and all acting as the Cabana Boys for feminists.
Radical feminists, and I’m talking the real, rabid, gender feminist schnauzers that get all the press as the “spokespersons” of the feminist block are for all practical purposes non-existent within the Republican Party. They’re all Democrats. All of them speak with vitriol against Republicans, and virtually write the marching orders of the Left when it comes to what we’d call Men’s Issues. And those orders are the most blatant pieces of misandry you might ever want to see. These same poisonous vipers are welcomes and feted by the Democrats. They are given aid, succor, a place to pitch their tents, a voice at the Conventions, a home for the caucuses, and a soapbox to preach against the Evil XY Chromosome Conspiracy. I’d be willing to wager that the noses of Democratic Politicians have a homing device implanted in them so they can be wedged accurately into the cracks of feminist asses.
I’m sure there’s a few from the left reading this, so you tell me. Tell me why it is democratic governors who veto relief against paternity fraud, Democratic legislators who fight tooth and nail against custody and support reform, Democratic Activists who lead the charge to preserve Title IX? You tell me. Tell me why I should consider leftists and Democrats my friends when they have allied themselves with my mortal enemies.
Affirmative Action. You know, since 1920, universal suffrage has been enjoyed by all adult citizens of the US of A; though we had an amendment that defined exactly what was meant by adult in the sixties. And just in case you were unaware a full 52% of these adults are women. That’s right, the Bearers of the Bazongas. The Female of the Species. Women are 52% of the voting population.
Yet, somehow, the fact that women don’t make up a proportionate amount of elected officials is somehow the fault of the Great Patriarchal Conspiracy. That is right. Because the solid political majority that is women won’t elect women to office, it’s the fault of men. Guess who trumpets this? Do you hear it from the Republicans?
No.
The Libertarians?
No.
The “Right?”
No.
It comes from the Left. Eleanor Smeal, and Molly Yard, and Pat Ireland, and Kim Gandy are the ones who are getting hysterical on this. NOW was the group that endorsed Carol Moseley Braun for President – solely on the basis of her reproductive plumbing. (We won’t even mention their lies about the “first woman to run for President” – which, for the record, was Victoria C. Woodhull in 1872.)
Women control well over 50% of the economic resources of this country. Yet, somehow, again, it’s the fault of men that women don’t get hired and promoted at the rates that some people think they are entitled to. Who is this “some people?” The usual suspects. Leftists. So what is the solution that these folks promote to insure we have adequate set asides and quotas for a political and ecomonic majority?
Affirmative action. Gah!
When mothers murder their children, who is it crying out that we must “understand” them? Why, it’s the same bunch that call for lynching of men when they kill family members. Leftists. These are the leftists that call for Star Chambers with secret accusations, suspension of due process, denying the right of habeus corpus, ex-parte proceedings. This is what throws fathers out of their children’s lives, and removes them from homes and families they have built. It’s the left that has led the charge to muzzle defendants in rape cases, and to place exculpatory evidence outside the pale as “inflammatory” and “irrelevant.” It’s the left who has sponsored bills and created bureaucracies designed to criminalize masculinity.
And when we want to raise our sons as men, who is it that drugs them with Ritalin? Leftist teachers. Who is it that has worked to remove Men’s competitive team sports from schools and colleges? Leftists. Who is it that wants to tear down the Boy Scouts of America, with their solid values, and teachings on honor and brotherhood?
Leftists.
You can argue with me all you want about how “Rightists” and Republicans go along with it, but it’s only on Right Wing websites do I see these things deplored. It’s only conservative politicians that I see voting against these things. It’s only the Pat Buchannans and Rush Limbaughs of the world that I hear talking against these things.
Tell me, where are the leftist Men’s Rights Activists during the conventions for their parties speaking out that women, as a majority, shouldn’t have affirmative action? Where are the leftist Men’s Rights Activists asking about restoring civil liberties and due process to men in domestic courts? Where are they all? Silent? Or silenced? If the former, shame on you. If the latter, run out and find your testicles before you call yourselves men.
In fact, when I do hear from Leftists in this place or that about men’s rights, it’s always some variation of the theme of “That’s very important to me, but all this other stuff is more important.” Well then. You have your answer, don’t you?
Your freedom is tied up with that of your brothers, and whether you like it or not, your right-wing brothers are out their putting their time in on picket lines, writing letters, going to jail, spending their time and money to do something, and in many cases voting for candidates that on some things they find them distasteful in the name of advancing the freedom of men to be fathers, to be the masters of their own lives, and to not roll over and just be a victim. And day after day after day the people they are running head on into are liberals and left wing-nuts. And then, when you, as a leftist, vote for these misandrist idiots to remain in power because you’re more concerned about the spotted owl or some other inane crap, you stand in wonder why none of these people regard you as their comrade in arms?
Let’s not mince words –the left is the breeding ground for feminism and misandry, and the Democratic Party is home base for the aid and succor of such “Politically Correct” beasts. Go thou and clean out your own house first. Decide whether you want your rights and freedoms as a man first and formost – or if the Snail Darter or the Latino-Bisexual-Crossdresser vote is more important to you as a cause. Then – and only then – will you have a leg to stand on when you come and claim that “The Left” is a friend to Men’s Rights.
Until then – the term they used to use was “Aid and Comfort.” So long as that is provided to our enemies by you, how in the hell can you expect to be counted as friends?
