So... Mitt Romney, the Republican governor of Massachusetts, who'd like to run for president; who travels around the Red States giving speeches on the need to defend "family values"--yeah, that Mitt Romney--had an opportunity recently to appoint a district court judge.
And what do you think he did?
Appointed a gay activist, of course! (For details, see www.article8.org)
Does this guy have sincerity issues?
It does make you wonder if the Republican Party is all it's cracked up to be. Yes, this is the same Mitt Romney who, in the same month, gave "Defend the family!" speeches in Southern states while hosting "gay pride" events at home.
Thanks to him, Massachusetts is the only state in the union that has homosexual "marriage." Oh, the court "ordered" it, and the legislature pretended that its hands were tied. But it was the governor who could have and should have stood up to the insolence of the judges, and this governor didn't. Maybe he was too busy emceeing "pride parades."
We expect this from Democrats: they're in business to promote the cause of gay militancy. That's one of the reasons why we put Republicans in control of the White House, both houses of Congress, most governorships, and most state legislatures.
In Gov. Romney's case, it hasn't done us any good.
If we want gay activists handing down diktats from the bench, and little black books of perversion distributed to our children in their schools, and jail time for parents and pastors who resist, we don't need Republicans in office. We can get that sort of thing from any Democrat.
Republican senators confirmed Ruth Bader Ginsburg for the Supreme Court. They voted unanimously with Democrats to confirm the Democrat Party chairman of Nebraska for a federal judgeship. This is the judge who last month overturned a referendum that 70% of the people of Nebraska voted for, amending their state constitution to protect real marriage. We have the Republican senators to thank for that.
What else will Republicans like Romney do to "defend the family"? Legalize polyamory; lower the age of consent, and decriminalize pedophilia; take up Peter Singer's suggestion to allow infanticide up to 30 days after a baby's birth; abolish home schooling--these are just a few of the goodies already available from the liberals' job jar.
If the performances of Gov. Romney, and of what we laughingly call the Republican majority in the Senate, are any indication, we are no longer slouching toward Gomorrha. We are bobsledding to it.
