Nothing could be more "homophobic" than to affirm the homosexual lifestyle and encourage people to practice it. Many have said this, but few have listened.

Now there's a new strain of the AIDS virus on the loose, that takes its victim from HIV to full-blown AIDS in months instead of years. It's here because viruses mutate. It may be the worst AIDS mutation so far, but it won't be the last.

Ordinarily I would skewer health officials in New York and San Diego for dancing around this issue like they're trying to dodge raindrops. They will say anything--anything!--but the one thing that must be said.

The gay lifestyle is profoundly self-destructive, and increasingly likely to be lethal.

Why, in the age of AIDS, do we find sodomy so frantically promoted by public schools and teachers' unions, universities, Hollywood, and liberals? Knowing what by now everybody knows, how can they encourage anyone--including children--to indulge in such dangerous behavior? They could hardly do worse if they sold cigarettes to kids in elementary schools.

Along comes rapid AIDS--I'll call it RAIDS, for short--and suddenly it seems homosexuals (and IV drug abusers) have a lot less time to turn their lives around. The RAIDS patient in New York contracted HIV in October and was diagnosed with AIDS in December. In between, he had sex with more than 100 partners--he really doesn't know how many. And we have a similar case in San Diego.

If anyone dares to urge homosexuals to abandon their doomed lifestyle, the elites in the media and the academic world flog him as a homophobe, a hater, a Bible-thumping maniac. Somehow it's always more tolerant, progressive, and loving to keep people in this lifestyle until it kills them. And if RAIDS can get a beachhead here, kill them it will.

Homosexuals need to hear what the Bible says.

Listen: God does not want you to die of AIDS. How can you know that? It says so! God "is long-suffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance" (II Peter 3:9). Through the Old Testament prophets God cried out to His people, "Cast away all your transgressions... for why will ye die, O house of Israel? For I have no pleasure in the death of him that dieth... turn yourselves, and live..." (Ezekiel 18:31-32).

I know--in Philadelphia, that's hate speech. But in the real world, it's the word of life. God always wants us to choose life, but He leaves the choice to us.

RAIDS is a fire alarm ringing loud and clear. The homosexual lifestyle is a house on fire. The only sane thing for the occupants to do is to get out before they're burned.

If you listen to the gay activists and the other loudmouths on the Left, you're going to stay in that house and die. You'll bring grief to your families, grief to your fellow citizens who are not blinded by rage over the activists' excesses, and grief to the God who made you and sacrificed His own Son to purchase your forgiveness.

Come out of the burning house, and life.
