Why Women Still Need Men

There's been a lot of talk in the media recently about women being delighted at the prospect of a world without men. The trigger for this was a bizarre book (see: http://www.bryansykes.co.uk) by a biologist trying to whip up a storm by saying that due to the gradual deterioration of the male 'Y' chromosome, eventually men will die out. How soon will this happen? In 125,000 years apparently.

Excuse me while I stifle a yawn!

A lot can happen in society, and especially in medicine and technology in 125 years, let alone 125,000. Do educated people seriously believe that if there is some threat to the Y chromosome in 125,000 years we won't have the technology to deal with it? But, even more importantly, does any educated person seriously believe that with the enormous advances to genetic engineering and technology we will even be recognisably human in 125,000 years? We could very well have split off into different species. We might be cyborgs.

At the very least, it is fruitless and ridiculous to be worrying about some theoretical threat in the distant future to male genetics. Of course, this isn't really about a genuine threat; it's just a publicity stunt that scientists use to get some attention from the feminist media. And it works a treat for them. Feminist leaning journalists have been lining up to squeal and whine about how their ex-husbands used to leave the toilet seat up, as though this were justification for genocide against half the Earth's population.

Men, you are needed. Where on Earth would women be without you? Back in caves before long, that's where. They'd be bowed in worship beneath the rusting monuments of man-made civilisation, powerless to make them work or replace them. Like the primitive peoples who pray before the wreckage of crashed airplane cargo, assuming it is some windfall from the Gods. I was going to say impotent, but that implies there was something to rise in the first place. A world with only men would probably be similar to the novel "The lord of the flies", with unrestrained barbarity and cruelty, but as much as I would hate to imagine such a world, a world with only women would also be one terminally unbalanced.

They'd be clutching their chests, weak-kneed, tearful, at the prospect of a world without the masculine element that makes their lives meaningful, makes them feel desirable, and brings order and definition to their chaotic emotional minds.

They'd be floating in a lukewarm, stagnant ocean of vapid, cloying, boring, and non-judgemental oestrogen. Their world would not advance, because it would lack drive, competition, and daring. Men provide the heat, the spark that differentiates life and makes things interesting for them. The drive for progress, even if it creates some disharmony.

Oh yes, you would hear a lot of women denying this. But most of the feminist women who lead these battle cries to wipe out men are very emotionally damaged individuals. And they are also hypocrites, because their very lives, and the comforts and conveniences they enjoy are the fruits of the work of men.

No men = no civilisation.

And like an overcrowded hen-coop, an all-female world would end up with all the women pecking each other to death - in a frenzy of bitchy rivalry un-tempered by masculine clear-mindedness or the diversion of a man to soothe and preoccupy them. No one to make them feel desirable.

So, what would happen if suddenly every man on Earth were to disappear? The female spirit, along with the machinery, infrastructure, energy and soul of civilisation would all collapse.

One can point out little tasks that most women would require men for: putting up shelves, building their child a tree-house, taking spiders out of the bath, changing the tyre on the car, and so on. But in theory, while women may rely on their man for these things, they could do them themselves (maybe). They are only surface manifestations of deeper needs. I've identified three main reasons why women will always need men:

1. Women need men for our pioneering, optimistic and strong spirit. Women need men because we bring something unique into the world with our personalities. And while women jostle for first prize in the competition of who can be the most socially acceptable, it is by far the men who are willing to stick their necks out and try genuinely new and different ideas. In a word, if you want pioneers to drive civilisation, you're going to need men.

2. Women need men as partners. Women desire to partner with men because they help to complete them spiritually. Yes, in theory a woman could cope on her own, earn her own money, purchase sperm and artificially inseminate herself in order to have children. But what a barren, cold environment this woman would find herself in.

The fact that women are so coy about their desires means that most men are kept in the dark about female desire for men. In fact, many men and boys more or less assume that women don't desire them at all, and they are, at best, reluctant victims of men's overbearing lust for the feminine form. Nothing could be further from the truth.

Women see something unique in men, something different from their own experience of the world and they desire to have it in their life. Basically, women admire our strength, and our mastery and purpose that we use to interact with the world. We can control our emotions and rise above them to focus on goals and tasks in a way that doesn't come very easily to women. Their lives are full of free-flowing emotion that they desire to have organised and be liberated from by having a man in their life to focus on. And any emotionally healthy woman will desire sex with a man who is intimate and devoted to her.

3. Women need men for their variety
As a group, men stretch further into all extremes than do women. In order to have a certain number of geniuses in the world, you're going to have to have a sizeable male population. We bring a different perspective on problem solving, child raising and everything else to the world. A female-only world would be creatively, ideologically and intellectually impoverished.

And aside from all these points, if women really hate men so much that they desire us banished from the world for good, then why don't you see loads of all-female communes where men aren't allowed? If there is such a feeling amongst women that we men are unbearable then they would have done something about it and be fleeing in droves to woods, or isolated fields and start up their own female-only communities. So, go on girls. If you hate us so much and think you can create a viable society without us, then either put up or shut-up. There are plenty of places - the rainforests perhaps - where you could go and be far away from us. If you don't like it here girls, then run off into the wilderness and create your own civilisation.

But of course, they won't, will they? Because they need us.
